how to keep boules fresh for 1-5 days

The best way to keep our artisan boules fresh is in a paper bag or wrapped in a cloth towel at room temperature.  Bread likes to breathe.  Loaves will stay fresh at room temperature for 3-5 days. If you have purchased two loaves with the intention to enjoy one now and one in a few days (like I do!) or do not feel that you can enjoy a whole loaf in 3-5 days time, freeze the portion you want to reserve.  Read below for freezing instructions.

Bread is best frozen in aluminum foil, but a plastic bag will work too. It freezes exceptionally well. Just wrap a whole loaf, or part thereof, and place it in the freezer. Let it thaw overnight in the foil and then warm it up a little in a slow oven to wick away any condensation. Alternatively a frozen loaf placed in a 250°F oven for an hour thaws nicely. You may also slice and freeze the bread and pull out slices when you need them as they thaw quickly in a toaster.
